Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Your special day is a time to shine, and you want to feel confident, radiant, and in your best shape. As a bridal personal trainer, I understand how important it is to look and feel your best on your wedding day. That’s why I want to share with you the importance of consistency in your workout program and some tips to help you stay on track.

Consistency is key when it comes to fitness and achieving your goals. I know that “consistency is key” is such a common saying but it is truly what will help you get results. When you are consistent with your workout routine, you are more likely to see progress and results. Whether your goal is to tone your muscles, lose weight, or simply improve your overall fitness, consistency will be your key to success.

However, it’s not always easy to stay consistent, especially when you have a busy schedule and a lot on your plate with your upcoming wedding. But with some effort and a few tips, you can make consistency a part of your daily routine. The more you stick to your routine (aka stay consistent), the easier it will feel and you will even feel more encouraged to keep going.

Here are some of my favorite tips that can help you stay consistent with your workout program:

  1. Set realistic goals: It’s important to set achievable goals that you can work towards. This will help you stay motivated and focused on what you want to achieve.
  2. Make a plan: Plan your workout schedule in advance and stick to it. Decide what days and times you will exercise, and make sure to schedule your workouts just like you would any other appointment.
  3. Find a workout buddy: Having someone to work out with can help you stay accountable and motivated. Find a friend or family member who is also interested in getting in shape, and work out together.
  4. Mix it up: Doing the same workout every day can get boring and make it harder to stay consistent. Mix things up by trying new exercises, new routines, and new equipment. This will help keep you engaged and motivated.
  5. Stay hydrated: Drinking enough water is essential for maintaining a healthy body and mind. Make sure to drink plenty of water before, during, and after your workouts. I love the Hidrate Spark water bottles and how easy they make it to drink enough water.
  6. Reward yourself: Treat yourself to something you love after each workout. This could be a delicious smoothie, a long hot bath, or simply listening to a good audiobook as you unwind from your workout. This will help keep you motivated and make your workouts more enjoyable.
  7. Get enough sleep: A good night’s sleep is important for maintaining energy and motivation. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep each night to keep your body and mind refreshed. If you need help calming down your mind, check out the Calm app. I’m obsessed and listen to at least one meditation each day!
  8. Find a workout you enjoy: When you enjoy your workouts, you’re more likely to stick with them. Try different types of exercise until you find something you love, such as yoga, dancing, or weightlifting.
  9. Listen to music: Music can be a great motivator when it comes to working out. Create a playlist of your favorite songs and listen to it while you exercise. Need some inspiration? Check out my playlists created for STF brides on Spotify!
  10. Keep track of your progress: Write down your progress in a journal or use a fitness app to track your progress. Seeing the progress you’ve made will help keep you motivated and on track. I like to keep track of the weights and reps I’ve done in each workout to make sure I’m always progressing.
  11. Make time for yourself: Set aside time each day to focus on your fitness and wellness. This time should be just for you and should not be interrupted by anyone or anything. Schedule it in your calendar like it’s any other important meeting in your day, and tell your fiance or maid of honor so they can keep you accountable too!
  12. Surround yourself with positivity: Surround yourself with positive, supportive people who will encourage you and help you stay motivated. Join our free Sweating for the Wedding group if you need a supportive group of brides!
  13. Celebrate your victories: No matter how small your victories are, make sure to celebrate them. This will help you stay motivated and see the progress you’ve made. It’s important to celebrate yourself for ALL the wins because every small win gets you closer to your goal.
  14. Don’t give up: If you miss a workout or slip up, don’t beat yourself up. Instead, pick yourself up and get back on track. Remember, progress is not always a straight line.
  15. Get support: If you need help staying motivated or need support, consider hiring a personal trainer. Working with a coach will keep you accountable and ensure that you stick to your workout routine so you can reach your biggest goals!

Remember, consistency is key to achieving your fitness goals. So, make a plan, stay committed, and don’t be too hard on yourself. With a little effort and a lot of determination, you’ll be able to stay consistent and reach your fitness goals in no time.
