Cakes, brownies, chocolate and more – it’s not easy creating a healthy wedding menu! But what if I told you, you could have plenty of options that are bursting with flavor? Whether it’s a bachelorette party or the wedding reception, there are tons of nutritious yet delicious recipes that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth.
(Believe me, because you know I have a huge sweet tooth!) Read on for my favorite fresh picks for this wedding season!
There’s nothing quite like those tiny bite-sized hors d’oeuvres to get people excited for what’s to come. Charcuterie boards are easy to prepare and incredibly popular among guests. Cheese, meat, vegetables and fruits paired with healthy crackers (high-protein, gluten-free and more) are a delicious way to start. For more ideas, check out how to make a healthy charcuterie board.
Some other great ideas include stuffed mushroom bites, grilled zucchini with peanut chicken, smoked salmon with cucumber and cream, Mexican pinwheels and more! You can also keep it simple with fresh fruit and raw veggies and a light ranch dip.
With dinner menus, there are plenty of healthy options to choose from.
Salmon entrees are light and fresh especially when paired with a vegetable side dish such as honey roasted heirloom carrots and wild rice. Another great option is chicken. This classic protein can be prepared in so many delicious ways. Combined with fresh seasonal salad or grilled vegetables – your guests will be lining up for seconds!
However, if there’s one tip you get from this post is that the more color you add to the plate the better! Think of adding bright greens, reds, and oranges to your plate! Fruits and vegetables are filled with vitamins and antioxidants making them the perfect pairing for any main.
Ah, dessert. Now this is my favorite part! While the cake is a wedding menu highlight it’s always good to have some other options floating around for the guests to try. If you want to provide healthy alternatives, fruit-based desserts are the way to go. Delicious and guilt-free, you can eat them all night long. Check out these healthy fruit dessert recipes for lots of ideas!
If you’re feeling more adventurous, black bean brownies and cashew cheesecakes may just do the trick. Trust me – they taste a lot better than they sound!
