The Bridal Body Workout Guide

Taking care of your body while planning a wedding is no easy task. Creating healthy fitness goals is one thing but putting it into action and keeping up with it is another story. Over the years I’ve worked as a bridal fitness trainer, I’ve seen it all. From crazy diets to one-week workout transformations, the internet can be a minefield of misinformation. The scary part is, sometimes it’s hard to filter out what is true or not! If that’s the case, don’t worry. Today’s post is all about covering the top 3 common workout mistakes keeping you from reaching your fitness goals.

Cheap Transformations

Have you ever scrolled through your Instagram feed and found your favorite influencer promising her favorite tea cleanse will help you lose weight? Or that 10-minute booty routine that will give you a bubble butt? I know I have.

There are hundreds upon hundreds of ads out there promising cheap and fast weight loss results. It’s no wonder so many women keep asking me if there are weight loss pills they can use! (The answer is they don’t work, they’re a waste of money, and they can cause serious harm to your body.)

The reality is that there is no magical solution. And if anyone is promising you fast results, then run the other way! I know, it sucks! It means we need to do the hard work to actually get results. And that can be a really hard truth to hear if you don’t innately love working out. But when you make exercise part of your daily routine, it becomes a habit and it is easier to stick to.

The best way to form long-term habits is to approach food, fitness, and mental health as a holistic process that ensures you are reaching your goals in a sustainable way. And that’s what I’m here to help you with! If you invest in your health and wellness and work with a personal trainer who truly cares for your success, you’re working towards a transformation that will last for years to come. It won’t be easy, it won’t cost you $9.99 a month, but it WILL be worth it to you.

The truth is, what you’ve been doing won’t get you to where you want to be.

That’s when you decide to make a real change to your fitness routine and seek the help of a trainer who cares about your success. No cheap transformations here!

Restricting What You Eat

One of the biggest mistakes I see brides-to-be make is eating less and working out more. That’s a big no, no! This often results in side effects such as fatigue, gut issues, mood swings, and brain fog simply because your body is not getting enough fuel.

What’s the solution?

Say yes to eating more real, whole foods! Your daily diet should consist of proteins, whole carbs, and healthy fats. Remember making positive changes to your daily routine takes time, so don’t be too hard on yourself. That juice cleanse won’t get you the results you want. You might see that you weigh a few pounds less the following days after the cleanse, but you won’t sustain that weight loss. You’ll just be back where you started, and I don’t want you to deal with that frustration. I’ve been there, and it’s no fun.

Working Out Without Training

Working out without a plan is one of the most common mistakes I see. I’ve done it before, too! However, I cannot stress enough how important it is to have a professional create a plan aligned to your goals for you to follow.

Even as a personal trainer, I create workout programs for myself and follow them. It’s way more motivating to know that you are working out with a purpose and following a plan created for your goals. I have tried to work out “intuitively” and just do whatever I feel like doing every day. But it doesn’t work when you’re training for an event! It would be best if you had structure and balance to make it effective.

Simply put, when you’re working out with a specific goal in mind, you need a workout program that will help you achieve those results.

Whether you’ve been exercising for a while or are brand new to it, it’s a good idea to work with a fitness professional. *Especially* if you want next-level results. Working out with a personal trainer will also ensure that your workouts are being done correctly (so you avoid getting injured!) and that your time is being used efficiently. No more 2-hour gym sessions!

Nothing is more satisfying than knowing you are doing something that is effective and will bring you results.
