The Bridal Body Workout Guide

Is your stomach playing tricks on you? Your body may feel toned one day and the next day you might be suddenly looking for the baggy t-shirt and sweatpants to ride out the discomforts of feeling bloated. To help get you back to feeling your best, here are some proven solutions to reduce bloating and get your digestive system back in order.

Add Potassium to Your Diet

We all love to indulge in salty flavors, but if your body is starting to bloat, it’s time to hit the pause button. The fastest way to get relief is to grab a glass of water or snack on potassium-rich foods such as avocados, bananas, and spinach to clear your system.

Put the Processed Foods Away

When my brides come to me for ways to reduce bloating, one of my go-to tips is to go easy on processed foods. While convenient, processed foods have high quantities of salt which causes your body to swell when it retains more water.

Turn On the Kettle

Peppermint, fennel, and chamomile tea are well known for their anti-bloating properties. Simply brew yourself some hot water, make the perfect cup of tea and enjoy it after your meal. These natural herbs are a gentle way to help your body with digestion.

Put on Your Walking Shoes

Taking a nice and leisurely walk around the neighborhood can do wonders for your stomach especially if you’re feeling gassy. Movement helps encourage the digestive system to shrink down, which in turn allows trapped gas to pass through more easily. Put on your walking shoes, turn on your favorite music and walk it out!

Give Probiotics a Try

Probiotics are a type of healthy gut bacteria that have a long list of benefits, one of which is tied to digestive health. Some food options to add to your diet include yogurt, tempeh, sauerkraut, kimchi, and kombucha. Although I always lean towards natural solutions, over-the-counter supplements can work as well.
