Feeling fit, focused, and fearless doesn’t come from buying a gym membership, it comes from you putting in the work! Now where you choose to work out in – that is totally up to you. The gym is one option, but it’s not the only one. Crowded exercise rooms, the smell of sweat in the air, equipment line-ups, not to mention membership costs, it can all quickly get overwhelming. But the good news is that creating a gym setup at home has never been easier. With over ten years of coaching experience, I want to help you build the perfect training space that will help you reach your goals.
Are you ready? Let’s get started!
Space
Let’s talk about space. The truth is you don’t need a lot of it to get your body moving! For my training sessions, all you need is a yoga mat. If you want to push your set up to the next level, interlocking tile mats can give you that nice, cushioned space for your workouts. Both options are budget-friendly, easy to clean, and can be quickly disassembled.
Cardio
We all know that cardio can sometimes be the hardest part of a workout. The nice thing is that you don’t need to buy a Peloton bike to bring on the sweat. I recommend going back to basics by investing in a jump rope. If you want to really feel the burn, a weighted one can do wonders.
Strength
Buying equipment doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. If you’re on a strict budget, try using household objects such as laundry detergent or milk jugs to substitute for weights. If you can, buying a set of dumbbells or resistance bands will help with lower and upper body conditioning.
Slowing Down
Working out is step one, but step two is equally as important! A foam roller is a great addition to your home gym equipment. It increases your range of mobility and can help relieve muscle tension after a hard workout!
Remember, exercising at home doesn’t require spending lots of money on workout equipment nor does it have to take up a lot of space! Start with one thing and build your way up from there. And last but not least, remember your laptop so you can hop on your training session with me!
See you all soon!
