The Bridal Body Workout Guide

As the bride, your wedding day is supposed to be about you and your spouse-to-be, but you may have quickly learned that is not entirely true. As you may know, weddings are highly stressful and almost always the most demanding for the bride.

How can you ensure your nerves don’t get the best of your big day? My most helpful advice, make time for yourself to relax throughout the event. Incorporating self-care measures into your wedding plans can help calm your nerves and allow you to REALLY enjoy this magical day.

Breathing Practices

One of the easiest ways to combat the stress of your wedding day is to practice breathing techniques. On a recent blog, Verywell Health listed some prevalent and highly effective breathing methods, including:

  • Deep Breathing
  • 4-7-8 Breathing
  • Mindful Breathing
  • Diaphragmatic Breathing

Practicing these techniques can lower stress and, in turn, provide you with a clear head to get through any anxiety you might experience throughout the event.

Take a Walk

It is important to take a few moments to yourself. Once the ceremony ends, slipping away from the crowd for a bit is okay. Change out of your gown into something more comfortable and take a short stroll around the venue.

This solo walk will give you a few moments of peace and allow you time with your thoughts. It is a beautiful way to gather your emotions before returning to the bustle of your busy day.

Make Time for the Essentials

With your packed itinerary, you should expect that you will forget to take care of yourself. Remind yourself to avoid skipping meals, even if you aren’t feeling hungry.

The day before your wedding, remember to pack a few small snacks such as cut veggies and fruits, your go-to granola bar, or your favorite trail mix. Small, balanced meals throughout the day will help keep you feeling like yourself even through the stress of it all.

Do you want to ensure that your guests have access to easy and nutritious food before the ceremony? BRIDES, a popular wedding blog, posted a list of simple pre-ceremony snacks you and your invites can enjoy! These include:

  • Lox topped cucumber bites
  • Avocado toast
  • A hydration station
  • Yogurt Parfaits

The options for pre-ceremony meals that will keep you feeling full all day long are endless.

Practice Some Yoga

You may be more stressed in the weeks and days leading up to your wedding. Practicing yoga can help to combat some of this stress and leave you feeling refreshed before your big day.

We all know that your beauty sleep is more important now than ever. In fact, Research has shown that performing a yoga routine during the day can help you to sleep better at night.

Not only does yoga support a healthy sleep routine, but it also has been shown to reduce stress, burn calories, and tone muscles. These are all things every bride wants before her wedding day.
